Questions island businesses ask

Yes. AckSites is a full-service graphic design studio based on Nantucket Island. Services include logo design, brand identity, print and large format design, social media graphics, album artwork, and marketing collateral for Nantucket businesses, restaurants, and organizations.

AckSites creates custom logos for Nantucket businesses, from restaurants and retail shops to landscaping companies and nonprofits. Every logo is designed from scratch — no templates. You receive full vector source files, color and black-and-white versions, and guidelines for consistent use across print, web, signage, and merchandise.

Logo design pricing depends on the scope. A standalone logo starts at a few hundred dollars. Full brand identity packages — which include logos, color palette, typography, and usage guidelines — are quoted based on your needs. Contact AckSites for a free estimate.

Yes. For Nantucket small businesses, fixed-price custom sites are built through AckSites, my island website company. Flagship websites for larger brands are built by the Owen Hudson studio as part of a brand engagement. Every site is hand-coded for performance and SEO — no WordPress or Squarespace templates. You can choose to have your site hosted and maintained, or receive the complete source files to host yourself.

Fixed-price small business sites through AckSites start at $2,000. Flagship websites from the Owen Hudson studio are scoped after a paid diagnostic and typically run well into five figures. Larger projects with multiple pages, forms, e-commerce, or custom functionality are quoted individually. All sites are built to be fast, mobile-friendly, and optimized for Google search.

Template builders like Squarespace work for basic needs, but Nantucket businesses competing for seasonal traffic benefit from custom-built sites. Custom sites load faster, rank better in search results, and don't look like every other template. AckSites builds sites that are tailored to your brand and optimized for local Nantucket SEO.

AckSites offers product photography on Nantucket for brands, retailers, and e-commerce businesses. From clean white-background product shots to styled lifestyle photography, sessions are available on-island. Prints, digital files, and licensing are all available.

AckSites offers graphic design, web design and development, branding and logo design, print design, large format signage, product photography, headshots, album artwork, social media graphics, and 3D product visualization — all available to Nantucket businesses, artists, and organizations.

Yes. AckSites works year-round. The off-season is actually ideal for branding refreshes, new websites, and marketing materials so your business is ready for the summer season. Projects can be handled in person on Nantucket or remotely.

It starts with a conversation about your project — what you need, timeline, and budget. From there, Owen creates a proposal and begins work. You'll see concepts, give feedback, and approve revisions before anything is finalized. Most projects include two to three rounds of revisions. The goal is to get it right, not just get it done.

A typical logo project takes one to three weeks from kickoff to final files, depending on complexity and feedback turnaround. Rush timelines are available for an additional fee. Brand identity packages that include logos, color systems, and guidelines take three to six weeks.

A simple portfolio or business site typically takes two to four weeks. More complex projects with custom features, multiple pages, or e-commerce take four to eight weeks. AckSites provides a timeline estimate upfront so you know what to expect.
